SECTION I - THE GAME
Chapter 1 FACILITIES
is EQUIPMENTS
1. AREA OF GAME
(Diagrams 1 and 2)
The game area understands
the game block and the free zone. She should be rectangular and symmetrical.
1.1 DIMENSIONS
The game block is a
rectangle measuring 18m x 9m, surrounded by a zone free with, in the minimum,
3m of width.
The space free from
game is the whole space placed above the game area, free from any obstacle,
should measure, at least, 7m of height, starting from the soil.
In the world
competitions of FIVB, the free zone should be of, at least, 5m starting from
the lateral lines and of 8m starting from the fund lines. The space free from
any obstacle, measured of the surface of the block, it should be of, at least,
12,5m of height.
In the Championships
World Adult and Olympic Games the free zone should measure at least 6m,
starting from the lateral lines and 9m starting from the fund lines.
1.2 SURFACE OF THE
GAME
1.2.1 the surface
should be it planes, horizontal, uniform and it should not present any lesion
danger to the players. It is prohibited to play on a wrinkled surface or
escorregadia.
For world
competitions of FIVB, only the wood surfaces or synthetic they are allowed. Any
other surface should be approved previously by FIVB.
1.2.2 in covered
blocks, the game surface should be of clear color.
In the world
competitions of FIVB, it is demanded that the lines demarcatórias is white. The
floor of the game block and the free zone should be, obligatorily, of different
colors.
1.2.3 in the blocks
in open enclosures, an inclination of the surface of game of 5mm is authorized
by meter for drainage. The lines of the block, done of solid material, are
forbidden.
1.3 LINES OF THE
BLOCK
1.3.1 all the lines
have a width of 5cm. They should be of clear color and different from the
colors of the floor of the block and of another lines any.
1.3.2 delimitação
lines
Two lateral lines and
two fund lines define the block. The fund lines and lateral are inserted in the
dimension of the game block.
1.3.3 Central line
The axis of the
central line divides the game block in two blocks of the same measures, tends,
each one, 9m x 9m. This line extends for under the net, of a lateral line to
the other.
1.4 ZONES are AREAS
1.4.1 attack zone
In each block the
attack zone is limited by the axis of the central line and the traced attack
line 3m behind this axis (with the width of the included line).
In the world
competitions of FIVB, the attack line is prolonged on both sides of the block,
being added 5 small lines of 15cm of length by 5cm of width and 20cm of
distance among each one, perfazendo a total of 1,75m of extension.
He/she is considered
that the attack zone extends besides the lateral lines until the end of the
free zone.
1.4.2 draft zone
The draft zone has 9m
of width behind the fund line (being this excluded).
She is defined, sidelong,
for two small lines, each one with 15cm of extension, placed 20cm after the
fund line as an extension of the lateral lines. Both lines are included in the
width of the draft zone.
In the depth, the
draft zone extends to the end of the free zone.
1.4.3 substitution
zone
The substitution zone
is defined by the prolongation of the attack lines to the table of the
sharpener.
1.4.4 heating area
In the world
competitions of FIVB the heating areas measure 3m x 3m approximately and should
be located in the songs of the game area, beside the banks of reservations,
I/you had gone of to free zone (Diagram 1).
1.4.5 penalização
area
The penalizações
areas will measure 1x1m approximately. and they will be behind each bank of
reservations (Diagram 1). They should be limited by a red line measuring 5 cm
of width and, to be equipped with 2 chairs.
1.5 TEMPERATURE
The minimum
temperature cannot be inferior to 10th C (50th F).
In the world
competitions of FIVB, the maximum temperature cannot be superior to 25th C
(77th F) and the minimum cannot be inferior to 16th C (61st F).
1.6 ILLUMINATION
In the world
competitions of FIVB, plays in shut block, the illumination in the game area
should have of 1.000 luxes to 1.500 luxes, measure for 1m above the surface of
the game area.
2. NET is POSTS
(Diagram 3)
2.1 HEIGHT OF THE NET
2.1.1 a net
verticalmente is installed on the axis of the central line. The height of the
net should be of 2,43m for the masculine teams and of 2,24m for the feminine
teams.
2.1.2 this height is
measured in the center of the game block. The two extremities of the net (above
the lateral lines) they should be in the same height and they cannot exceed the
height to regulate in more than 2cm.
2.2 STRUCTURE
The net measures 1m
of width for 9,50m of length and it is done in meshes in the black color
forming square of 10cm sideways (Diagram 3).
In the superior part
there is a white horizontal strip, of 5cm of width, done of a screen bent to
the middle and that is sewn along the length of the net. In each extremity of
the superior part of the net there is an opening through which a rope that
arrests her to the posts to maintain it passes stretched.
Inside of this strip
it passes a flexible cable that arrests the net to the posts and it maintains
its stretched out superior part.
In the inferior part
of the net (without horizontal strip) a rope passes through the meshes in order
to tie it to the posts and to maintain the stretched out inferior part.
2.3 LATERAL STRIPS
Two white strips are
placed verticalmente in the net, directly above each lateral line.
They measure 5cm of
width and 1m of length and they are considered integral part of the net.
2.4 ANTENNAS
The antenna is a
flexible stick measuring 1,80m of length and 10mm of diameter. She is made of
glass fiber or similar material.
Two antennas are
fastened in the external part of the lateral strips, on each side of the net
(Diagrama3).
The superior part of
the antennas extends 80cm above the superior board of the net. The antennas are
colored in strips measuring 10cm of width, in contrasting colors, red and white
preferivelmente.
They are considered
as integral part of the net and they define the crossing space sidelong above
the net (Diagram 5, Rules 11.1.1).
2.5 POSTS
2.5.1 the posts that
sustain the net should be at a distance of 0,50m to 1 m of each lateral line
(Diagram 3). They should have a height of 2,55m and they should be adjustable
preferencialmente.
2.5.2 the posts
should be round, flat and fastened to the soil. It is prohibited the fixation
of the posts by means of cables. All installation that presents danger or
obstacle should be eliminated.
2.6 ADDITIONAL
EQUIPMENTS
Whole additional
equipment is determined by the regulations of FIVB.
3. BALLS
3.1 CHARACTERISTICS
The ball should be
spherical, being its layer done of flexible leather or synthetic leather and
the interior camera done of rubber or similar material.
Its color can be
uniform and clear or a combination of colors.
The synthetic leather
and the combination of colors of the balls used in Official International
Competitions should obey the patterns of FIVB.
The circumference
should be of 65 cm to 67 cm and the weight from 260g to 280g.
The pressure intern
should be of 0,30 kg/cm² to 0,325 kg/cm² (294,3 mbar to 318,82 mbar or hPa) or
0,423 lbs to 0,456 lbs.
3.2 UNIFORMITY OF THE
BALLS
All the balls used in
a departure should have the same characteristics in what he/she says respect to
the circumference, weight, pressure, type etc.
The world
competitions of FIVB should be played with balls approved by FIVB.
3.3 SYSTEM OF THREE
BALLS
In the world
competitions of FIVB, three balls should be used. In this case, six boleiros is
like this disposed: one in each angle of the free zone and one behind each
referee (Diagram 10).
Chapter 2
PARTICIPANTS
4. TEAMS
4.1 COMPOSITION OF
THE TEAMS
4.1.1 a team is
constituted of in the maximum 12 players, a technician, a technical assistant,
a physical coach and a doctor.
One of the players is
the captain of the team and as such it should be indicated in the súmula of the
game.
In the world
competitions of FIVB the doctor should be credenciado for FIVB.
4.1.2 each team has
the option of registering, among its players, a (1) player specialized in
defense " Líbero " (it Rules 8.5).
4.1.3 only the
players registered in the súmula can enter in the block and to participate in
the game. After the captain of the team and the technician they have signed the
súmula, the players' registration more it cannot be moved.
4.2 LOCATION OF THE
PARTICIPANTS
4.2.1 the players
that are not playing should stay sat down in the bank of reservations or in its
area of corresponding heating (it Rules 1.4.4). THE technician and the other members
of the team should be sat down in the bank of reservations, but they can leave
it temporarily.
The banks of
reservations of the teams are located on each side of the table of the
sharpener, I/you had gone of to free zone (Diagram 1).
4.2.2 only to the
integral members of the team it is allowed to sit down in the bank of
reservations during the game and to participate in the heating (it Rules
4.1.1).
4.2.3 during the
game, the players that you/they are not playing can accomplish heating without
ball in the area that is determined for that end (it Rules 1.4.4) and, also,
during the technical times and of rest, in the free zone in the fund of its
block.
During the intervals
among the sets, the players can use balls for heating in the free zone.
4.3 UNIFORM
The players' uniform
consists of shirt, shorts, stockings and tennis.
4.3.1 the shirts,
shortss and stockings should be the same, to be clean and to have the same
color for everybody of the same team (except Líbero, it Rules 8.5).
4.3.2 the tennis
should be light and flexible, with rubber sole or of leather, without jump.
In the world
competitions of FIVB adult category, the color of the tennis should also be the
same for all the players of a same team, being able to not the color of the
maker's logotype to be different.
4.3.3 the players'
shirts should be numbered from 1 to 18.
4.3.3.1 the number
should be placed in the center of the shirts, so much in front as in the backs.
The color and the shine of the numbers should contrast with the color and the
shine of the shirts.
4.3.3.2 the numbers
should measure at least 15cm of height in the chest and 20cm in the backs. The
strip that forms the numbers should have at least 2cm of width.
4.3.4 the captain of
the team is identified by a strip in its shirt, of 8cm x 2cm placed in the
chest, below the number.
4.3.5 are prohibited
the use of color uniforms different from the other players (it Rules 4.3.1)
(except Líbero, it Rules 8.5) e/ou without the official numeration (it Rules
4.3.3).
4.4 CHANGE OF UNIFORM
The first referee can
authorize an or more players:
4.4.1 to play
barefoot;
4.4.2 to move of
shirt among the sets or after a substitution, in the condition that the new
shirts are of the same color, number and have the same feitio.
4.4.3 to play with
agasalhos, in cold climates, since they are of the same color and feitio
(except Líbero) and numbered correctly (it Rules 4.3.3.1).
4.5 FORBIDDEN OBJECTS
4.5.1 are prohibited
the use of objects that you/they can cause lesions or to provide some advantage
to the player.
4.5.2 the players can
use glasses for its own bill and risk.
5. RESPONSIBLE FOR
THE TEAMS
The captain of the
team and the technician are responsible for the conduct and it disciplines of
all the members of its team.
5.1 CAPTAIN
5.1.1 before THE
BEGINNING OF THE GAME, the captain of the team signs the súmula of the game and
it represents its team in I raffle it.
5.1.2 DURING THE
GAME, the captain of the team carries out its captain functions while it stays
in the block. When substituted, it should be designated by the technician or
for the own captain, a player that carries out the captain's of the team
functions.
This captain will be
the responsible person for the team: until that he is substituted, the captain
of the team comes back to the block or the set it finishes.
When the ball is out
of game only the captain of the team it is authorized going to the referees
for:
5.1.2.1 to request
explanations in the application or interpretation of the rules and to submit to
the referees the requests and its team colleagues' questions. In case the
explanation doesn't satisfy it, he owes, immediately, to communicate to the
first referee that the right is reserved of having its disagreement registered
in the súmula as official protest at the end of the game (it Rules 23.2.4);
5.1.2.2 to ask
authorization for:
the) to change of
uniform;
b) to verify the
positions of the teams;
c) to verify the
floor, net, ball etc.;
5.1.2.3 to request
times for rest and substitutions (Regra16.2.1).
5.1.3 IN THE END OF
THE GAME, the captain of the team:
5.1.3.1 thank to the
referees and he/she signs the súmula to ratify the result;
5.1.3.2
confirma,registrando in the súmula,algum disagreement expressed previously by
him (or for its substitute in the game) to the first referee (it Rules
5.1.2.1).
5.2 TECHNICIAN
5.2.1 during whole
the game, the technician drives its team out of the game area. He decides the
initial formation, the substitutions and he/she requests the times of rest to
give its instructions. In its functions, its official contact is with the
second referee.
5.2.2 before THE
GAME, the technician registers or it checks the names and numbers of its
players placed in the súmula and he signs soon after.
5.2.3 DURING THE
GAME, the technician:
5.2.3.1 delivery to
the sharpener or the second referee, before each set, the form of draft order
properly filled and signed;
5.2.3.2 sit down in
the bank of its team the closest possible of the sharpener, could leave it
temporarily;
5.2.3.3 request times
of rest and substitutions;
5.2.3.4 cannot, as
well as the other members of the team, to give instructions to the players in
the game block, while be sat down in the bank of reservations or inside of the
heating area, without to disturb or to delay the game.
5.3 TECHNICAL
ASSISTANT
5.3.1 the technical
assistant sits down in the bank of its team but she is not entitled the of
intervening in the game.
5.3.2 in case the
technician has to leave its team, the technical assistant it can assume the
technician's functions, since at the request of the captain of the team and
properly authorized by the first referee.
Chapter 3 FORMAT OF THE
GAME
6. to MARK A POINT, to
WIN A SET AND THE GAME
6.1 to MARK A POINT
6.1.1 lacks in the game
All action of game of a
team contrary to these Rules or that results in its violation it is a game lack
and it should be whistled by one of the referees. The referees judge the lacks
and they determine the in accordance penalização these Rules.
6.1.1.1 if two or more
lacks are made successively, the first is only considered.
6.1.1.2 if two or more
lacks are made simultaneously, for two opponents, he/she is considered a DOUBLE
LACK and the rally it is repeated.
6.1.2 consequences of a
lack
The consequence of a lack
is the loss of the rally. The opponent of the team that made the lack wins the
rally with one of the following consequences:
6.1.1.1 if the opposing
team made the draft, this mark a point and it continues to take out;
6.1.1.2 if the team
opposing recepcionou the draft, this mark a point and it wins the right of
taking out;
6.2 to WIN A SET
A set (except the
decisive - 5th set) it is won by the team that first to conquer 25 points with
a minimum difference of 2 points. In the case of a tie in 24-24, the game will
continue until that one of the teams gets an advantage of 2 points (26-24,
27-25,...).
6.3 to WIN A GAME
6.3.1 a game is won by
the team that to win three sets.
6.3.2 in case there is
tie 2-2 in sets, a decisive set (5th) it is played in 15 points, with a minimum
difference of 2 points.
6.4 WAIVER is INCOMPLETE
TEAM
6.4.1 if a team refuses
to play, having been summoned, it is declared drop-out and it loses the game,
with the result end of 0 - 3 and of 0 - 25 for each set.
6.4.2 the team that,
without a justifiable reason, it is not present in the game block in the
certain schedule, it is declared absent and the game has the same result that
mentioned him in the Rule 6.4.1.
6.4.3 a team that is
declared INCOMPLETE for a set or a game (it Rules 7.3.1.1) it loses the set or
the game. They are attributed to the opposing team the points, or the points
and the necessary sets to win the set or the game. The team incomplete preserve
the points and the sets that it conquered.
7. it STRUCTURES OF THE
GAME
7.1 RAFFLE it
Before the game, the
first referee accomplishes a I raffle to decide who executes the first draft
and which the side of the block of the teams in the first set.
A new one raffles it is
accomplished before a decisive set.
7.1.1 raffle it it is
accomplished in the two captains' of the teams presence.
7.1.2 the winner of the
I raffle he/she chooses:
OR
7.1.2.1 the right of to
take out or to receive the draft,
OR
7.1.2.2 the side of the
block.
The loser is with the
remaining alternative.
7.1.3 in the case of
serial heatings, the team that is entitled the to the first draft should also
become warm first in the net.
7.2 HEATING
7.2.1 before the
beginning of the game, each team can become warm in the net for 3 minutes, in
case they have had a block at your disposal for heating; otherwise, each team
has 5 minutes.
7.2.2 if both captains
agree in having the heating together, the teams can use the net for 6 or 10
minutes, in agreement with the Rule 7.2.1.
7.3 FORMATION OF THE
TEAMS
7.3.1 each team should
always have six players in the game block.
7.3.1.1 the form with
the initial position indicates the order of the players' draft in the block.
This order should be maintained until the end of the set.
7.3.1.2 when a team uses
its option of registering a Líbero, its number it should also be placed in the
formuário with the initial position of the 1st set, together with the numbers
of the 6 players that will begin the departure.
7.3.2 before the
beginning of each set, the technician should present the initial formation of
its team through the form of draft order. This form, filled and signed, is
given to the second referee or the sharpener.
7.3.3 the players that
be not mentioned in the form of draft order for the set are the substitutes for
this same set.
7.3.4 after the draft
order to be given to the second referee or the sharpener, any change is allowed
without there is a normal substitution.
7.3.5
7.3.5.1 having
discrepancy between the draft order and the players' positions in the block
before the beginning of the set, these should be positioned in agreement with
the form of draft order. No penalty is applied.
7.3.5.2 in the same way,
before the beginning of the set, if an or more players in the block are not
related in the form of draft order, these players should be changed according
to the form. No penalty is applied.
7.3.5.3 though, if the
technician wants to continue with este(s) jogador(es) in the block, he should
request a(s) substituição(ões) regulamentar(es) that será(ão) then
registrada(s) in the súmula of the game.
7.4 POSITIONS
In the moment in that
the ball is hit by the sacador, each team should be positioned inside of its
own block (except the sacador) according to the draft order.
7.4.1 the players' positions
are like this numbered:
7.4.1.1 the three
players placed along the net form the attack line and they occupy the positions
4(ataque - left), 3(ataque - I center) and 2(ataque - right).
7.4.1.2 the other three
players that form the defense line occupy the positions 5(defesa - left),
6(defesa - I center) and 1(defesa - right).
7.4.2
7.4.2.1 each player of
the defense line should be positioned moved away of the net that the player
corresponding of the attack line.
7.4.2.2 the players of
the attack and of the defense, respectively, should be positioned sidelong
according to the Rule 7.4.1.
7.4.3 the players'
positions are certain and controlled in agreement with the placement of its
feet in the soil, as it proceeds (Diagram 4):
7.4.3.1 each player of the
attack line should have, at least, a part of its foot close to the central line
that the player's corresponding of the defense line feet;
7.4.3.2 each right
lateral player (or left) he/she should have, at least, it leaves of its closer
foot of the right lateral line (or left) that the player's of the center of its
line feet.
7.4.4 after the draft to
be accomplished, the players can move and to occupy any inside position of its
own block and in the free zone.
7.5 LACKS OF POSITION
7.5.1 a team makes position
lack, if one of the players is not in its correct position in the moment in
that the ball is hit by the sacador (Rules 7.3 and 7.4).
7.5.2 in case the
sacador makes a lack in the draft (Rules 13.4 and 13.7.1) in the moment of
hitting the ball, its lack it prevails on a position lack.
7.5.3 if, after hitting
the ball, the draft to become faltoso (it Rules 13.7.2), it is the position
lack that will be considered.
7.5.4 a position lack
carts the following consequences:
7.5.4.1 the team is
sanctioned with the loss of the rally (it Rules 6.1.2);
7.5.4.2 the players'
positions are corrected.
7.6 RODÍZIO
7.6.1 the order of the
rodízio is determined by the initial formation and controlled through the form of
draft order, should be maintained during the whole set.
7.6.2 when the receiving
team wins the right of taking out, its players make a rodízio, advancing a
position, always in the sense of the pointers of the clock: the player of the
position 2 is going to the position 1 to take out, the player of the position 1
is going to the position 6 etc.
7.7 LACKS IN RODÍZIO
7.7.1 a rodízio lack
happens when the DRAFT is not made according to the rotation order (it Rules
7.6.1), carting the following consequences:
7.7.1.1 the team faltosa
is sanctioned with the loss of the rally (it Rules 6.1.2);
7.7.1.2 the players'
rodízio is corrected.
7.7.2 the sharpener
determines the exact moment in that the lack is made and all the subsequent
points of the team are annulled. The points of the opposing team are
maintained.
If the moment of the
lack cannot be determined, any point is not canceled and the loss of the rally
is the only sanction.
8. SUBSTITUTION OF
PLAYERS
The substitution is the
a player's act he/she to leave of the block and another one to occupy its
place. The substitution should be authorized by the referees (according to the
substitution procedures, to see Rule 16.5).
8.1 LIMIT OF THE
SUBSTITUTIONS
8.1.1 each team can
proceed the, at the most, 6 substitutions in each set. An or more players can
be substituted at the same time.
8.1.2 in each set a
player of the initial formation can leave the game and to come back, only once,
for the same position.
8.1.3 a player
reservation can only enter once in the game in each set, in the a player's of
the initial formation place, but its substitution can only be made by the same
player that substituted.
8.2 EXCEPTIONAL
SUBSTITUTION
When a player if lesiona
(except Líbero, it Rules 8.5.2.4), and it cannot continue to play, he should be
substituted legally. In case this procedure is not possible, the team is
entitled the of doing a EXCEPTIONAL substitution, besides the limits of the
Rule 8.1.
In an exceptional
substitution, any player that is not in block in the instant of the bruise
(except Líbero), it can substitute the player lesionado. The player lesionado,
substituted this way, he/she won't have permission to come back to the
departure.
8.3 SUBSTITUTION FOR
EXPULSION
A player EXPELS or
DISQUALIFIED (Rules 21.3.2 and 21.3.3) it should be substituted legally. In
case this procedure is not possible, the team is declared INCOMPLETE (Rules
6.4.3 and 7.3.1.1).
8.4 ILLEGAL SUBSTITUTION
8.4.1 a substitution is
illegal when it exceeds the limitations of the Rule 8.1 (except with
relationship to the foreseen in the Rule 8.2).
8.4.2 when a team makes
an illegal substitution and the game resumes (it Rules 9.1), the following
procedures should be made:
8.4.2.1 are pained with
the loss of the rally;
8.4.2.2 the substitution
is corrected;
8.4.2.3 the points
marked by the team faltosa are annulled, since the moment in that the lack was
made. The points marked by the opposing team are maintained.
8.5 LÍBERO
8.5.1 Líbero (it Rules
4.1.2) it should be registered in the súmula, before the departure, in the line
especially reserved for this end. Its number should also be added to the form
of order of draft of the 1st set. (It rules 7.3.1.3).
8.5.2 the specific rules
for Líbero are the following ones:
8.5.2.1 uniform
Líbero should use
uniform or shirt of different color, in contrast with the other players of the
team (or with different style) (it Rules 4.3.5).
8.5.2.2 game actions
the) Líbero is
authorized to substitute any player of the defense line.
b) Líbero can only act
as a player of the defense line and it cannot complete an attack of any place
of the game area (it squares of game + free zone) if, in the moment of the
contact with the ball, this it is totally above the superior board of the net.
c) Líbero cannot take
out, to block or to make a blockade attempt.
d) A player cannot make
an attack, being the ball above the superior board of the net, if this ball is
coming of a touch with the fingers made inside by Líbero of the attack zone.
The ball can be attacked freely if Líbero makes this same action behind the
attack zone.
8.5.2.3 substitution of
players
the) Substitutions
involving Líbero is not counted as regular substitutions. They are limitless,
but a rally should exist between the exit of Líbero and its new entrance in
block. Líbero can only be substituted by the player to who substituted.
b) The substitutions can
only be made in these conditions:
i. at the beginning of
each set, after the second referee to have checked the draft order;
ii. when the ball is out
of game;
iii. before the whistle
authorizing the draft.
c) Líbero can only enter
or to leave of the block for the front lateral line to the bank of reservations
of its team, in the space understood between the line of the attack zone and
the fund line.
8.5.2.4 substitution of
a bruised Líbero:
the) With the 1st
referee's previous authorization, a bruised Líbero can be substituted by any
player that is out of the block in the moment of the bruise. Bruised Líbero
more it cannot participate in the departure.
b) THE player that
substituted Líbero, it should stay like Líbero until the end of the departure.
Chapter 4 ACTIONS OF
GAME
9. SITUATIONS OF GAME
9.1 BALL IN GAME
The ball is in game
starting from the moment of the draft blow authorized by the first referee.
9.2 BALL OUT OF GAME
The ball is out of game
starting from the moment in that a lack is whistled by one of the referees; in
the absence of a lack, in the moment of the whistle.
9.3 BALL " INSIDE
"
He/she is considered the
ball " inside " when he/she plays the floor of the game block,
besides in its delimitação lines (it Rules 1.3.2).
9.4 BALL " OUT
"
He/she is considered the
ball " out " when:
9.4.1 the part of the
ball that plays the floor is totally out of the lines of delimitação of the
block;
9.4.2 play an object out
out of the block, the roof or a person of the game;
9.4.3 play the antennas,
fixation cables, posts or the own net, out of the lateral strips;
9.4.4 surpass the vertical
plan of the net, total or same partially, out of the crossing space, except in
the case of the Rule 11.1.2;
9.4.5 surpass the space
completely under of the net (it Rules 11.1.3 and Diagram 5).
10. ACTIONS OF GAME
Each team should play
inside of its area and game space (except Rule 11.1.2). THE ball cannot,
however, to be recovered besides the free zone.
10.1 TOUCHES OF THE TEAM
Each team is entitled
the of playing the ball at the most three times, besides the touch of the
blockade (it Rules 15.4.1), to return the ball. If more touches are used, the
team makes a lack of " FOUR TOUCHES ".
The touches of a team
include not only the intentional touches, but also the accidental contacts with
the ball.
10.1.1 serial contacts
The player cannot play
twice consecutively in the ball (except the Rules 10.2.3, 15.2.1 and 15.4.2).
10.1.2 simultaneous
contacts
Two or three players can
play the ball at the same time.
10.1.2.1 when two
(three) players of the same team play the ball simultaneously, he/she is
considered as two (three) touches (except when blocking). If they try to reach
the ball, but only one gets to play it, he/she is considered a touch. The
collision among the players doesn't constitute lack.
10.1.2.2 when two
opposing players play the ball simultaneously above the net and this continues
in game, the team that receives it he/she is entitled to three touches. If the
ball drops " out " of the block, the lack is of the team on the
opposite side where she dropped.
10.1.2.3 if simultaneous
contacts among players opponents result in " ARRESTING THE BALL " (it
Rules 10.2.2), he/she is considered a " DOUBLE " LACK (it Rules
6.1.1.2) and the rally is repeated.
10.1.3 leaning touch
Inside of the game area,
it is not allowed to a player to lean on in another player or any
estrutura/objeto to reach the ball.
However, the player that
is to make a lack (as to play the net or to surpass the central line etc.) it
can be aided by other team companion to avoid it.
10.2 CHARACTERISTICS OF
THE TOUCH
10.2.1 the ball can be
played with any part of the body.
10.2.2 the ball should
be played, driven e/ou cannot be retained. He/she can be a correspondent for
any direction.
10.2.3 the ball can play
several parts of the body, as long as these contacts happen simultaneously.
Exceptions:
10.2.3.1 serial contacts
(it Rules 15.2.1) they can happen during a blockade action among an or more
blocking, as long as these contacts happen during a same action.
10.2.3.2 in the moment
of the first touch of a team, (Rules 10.1 and 15.4.1) the ball can make serial
contacts with several parts of the body, since these contacts happen during the
same action.
10.3 LACKS IN THE TOUCH
OF BALL
10.3.1 FOUR TOUCHES: a
team plays the ball four times before coming back her for the opposing block
(it Rules 10.1).
10.3.2 LEANING TOUCH: a
player leans on in a companion or in any estrutura/objeto to play the ball
inside of the game area (it Rules 10.1.3).
10.3.3 RETAINED: a
player retains or it drives the ball (it Rules 10.2.2).
10.3.4 DOUBLE CONTACT: a
player plays the ball twice successively or the ball plays several parts of its
body successively (it Rules 10.2.3).
11. BALL IN DIRECTION
TO THE NET
11.1 BALL PASSING ON
THE NET
11.1.1 the ball correspondent
for the opposing block should go over of the net, inside of the crossing space
(Diagram 5). THE crossing space is like this the part of the vertical plan of
the net defined:
11.1.1.1 below, for
the superior board of the net;
11.1.1.2 sidelong,
for the antennas and its imaginary prolongation;
11.1.1.3 above, for
the roof.
11.1.2 a ball that
surpasses the vertical plan of the net in direction to the zone free from the
opposing block (it Rules 12) passing total or partially on the outside of the
crossing space, it can be recovered inside of the touches you regulate since:
11.1.2.1 the block
opponent is not played by the player;
11.1.2.2 the ball,
when turn play, surpass the plan of the net again on the outside of the
crossing space and on the same side of the block.
The team opponent
cannot impede this action.
11.2 BALL PLAYING THE
NET
The ball that passes
above the net (it Rules 11.1.1) he/she can play it, except in the draft.
11.3 BALL IN THE NET
11.3.1 a ball
encounter play to the net can be recovered inside of the limit of the 3 touches
of the team (it Rules 10.1), except in the draft.
11.3.2 if the ball
tears the meshes or it knocks down the net, the rally it is annulled and
repeated (Exception: the draft, Rules 11.2).
12. PLAYER IN THE NET
12.1 INVASION FOR TOP
OF THE NET
12.1.1 in the
blockade, the blocking can play the ball above the net in the opponent's space,
as long as its action doesn't interfere before or during the blow of the
opponent's attack (it Rules 15.3).
12.1.2 are allowed to
the player to surpass the hands for top of the net after its attack blow, since
the touch in the ball has been made inside of its own game space.
12.2 INVASION
underneath OF THE NET
12.2.1 are allowed to
invade the opponent's space underneath of the net, as long as it doesn't
interfere in its action of playing.
12.2.2 to invade the
opposing block besides the central line:
12.2.2.1 are allowed
to play the opposing block with o(s) pé(s) or a(s) mão(s), since it leaves
do(s) pé(s) or da(s) mão(s) permaneça(m) in direct contact with the central
line, or tenha(m) the projection on the same.
12.2.2.2 are
prohibited the contact of any other part of the body with the opposing block.
12.2.3 a player can
enter in the opposing block after the ball is out of the game (it Rules 9.2).
12.2.4 a player can
penetrate in the zone free from the opponent, as long as this action doesn't
interfere in the opponent's game.
12.3 CONTACT WITH THE
NET
12.3.1 the contact
with the net or antenna (it Rules 12.4.4) it is not lack, except when a player
plays in the antenna or in the net during its game action or in the attempt of
doing it.
12.3.2 after playing
the ball, the player can play the posts, cables or any other object out of the
total length of the net, as long as this action doesn't interfere in the game.
12.3.3 don't have
lack when the ball is a correspondent against the net and this plays in an
opponent.
12.4 LACKS OF THE
PLAYER IN THE NET
12.4.1 a player plays
the ball or the opponent before in the space of game of the contrary team or
during the blow of the opponent's attack (it Rules 12.1.1).
12.4.2 a player
invades the opponent's space underneath of the net interfering in the action of
game of the same (it Rules 12.2.1).
12.4.3 a player
invades the opposing block (it Rules 12.2.2.2).
12.4.4 a player plays
the net or the antenna, during its game action or in the attempt of doing it
(it Rules 12.3.1).
13. DRAFT
The draft is the
action of placing the ball in game for the player of right defense positioned
in the draft zone (it Rules 13.4.1).
FIRST 13.1 DRAFT OF
SET
13.1.1 the first
draft of the first set, as well as of the decisive set (5th), it is executed by
the team determined for the I raffle (it Rules 7.1).
13.1.2 the other sets
begins with the draft of the team that has not begun taking out in the previous
set.
13.2 ORDER OF DRAFT
13.2.1 the players
should follow the draft order registered in the form of draft order (it Rules
7.3.1.2).
13.2.2 after the
first draft of a set, the player is determined that will take out in the
following way:
13.2.2.1 if the team
that took out the rally, the player that made the previous draft expires (or
its substitute) it takes out again;
13.2.2.2 if the team
that received the draft wins the rally, it wins the right of taking out and,
before doing it, it makes a rodízio (it Rules 7.6.2). THE player of the
position of attack right (2) he/she goes for the position of right defense (1)
to execute the draft.
13.3 AUTHORIZATION
FOR THE DRAFT
The first referee
authorizes the execution of the draft after having verified the two teams they
are ready to play and the sacador is of ownership of the ball.
13.4 EXECUTION OF THE
DRAFT
13.4.1 the ball
should be hit with one of the hands or any other part of the arm after being
loosened or thrown to the air with a(s) mão(s) and before he/she plays other
part of its body or the floor of the block.
13.4.2 in the moment
in that hits the ball or that jumps to make the draft, the sacador he/she
cannot play the game block (besides the fund line) nor to step had gone of to
draft zone.
After hitting the
ball, the sacador he/she can play the floor inside and out of the draft zone or
inside of the game block.
13.4.3 after the
first referee to whistle authorizing the draft, the sacador has up to 8 seconds
to hit the ball.
13.4.4 the draft made
before the referee's whistle is canceled and repeated.
13.5 BARRIER
13.5.1 the players of
the team sacadora cannot, through the formation of individual or collective
barrier, to impede the opponents of they see the sacador or the trajectory of
the ball.
13.5.2 a barrier
happens when a player or a group of players of the team sacadora shakes the
arms, it jumps or he/she moves for the sides when the draft is being made or
they stay contained to impede the visualization of the trajectory of the ball.
13.6 LACKS IN THE
DRAFT
13.6.1 lacks in the
draft
The lacks below cart
a draft change, even if the opponent is out of position (it Rules 13.7.1). THE sacador:
13.6.1.1 viola the
draft order (it Rules 13.2);
13.6.1.2 don't
execute the draft correctly (it Rules 13.4);
13.6.2 draft lacks

13.7 LACKS IN THE
DRAFT AND OF POSITION
13.7.1 if the sacador
makes a lack in the draft (I wander in the execution of the draft, mistake in
the rodízio etc.) and the opponent is out of position, the lack of the sacador
is pained.
13.7.2 to the
opposite, the draft is executed, but subsequently it happens a lack (the ball
plays the net, it is going out, it goes over of a barrier etc.), the position
mistake happens first and this is pained.
14. ATTACK
14.1 BLOW OF ATTACK
14.1.1 all action of
sending the ball for the opposing block, except the draft and of the blockade,
an attack is considered.
14.1.2 during the
execution of an attack, a light touch (" start ") it is allowed if
this touch goes clear and to ball it be not accompanied by the hand.
14.1.3 an attack is
effective when the ball surpasses the vertical plan of the net completely or it
is played by an opponent.
14.2 RESTRICTIONS TO
THE BLOW OF ATTACK
14.2.1 an attacker
can make an attack blow in any height, since, in the moment in that to play the
ball, be inside of its game space (except the Rule 14.2.4).
14.2.2 a player of
the defense can make an attack of any height behind the attack zone:
14.2.2.1 if in the
moment of the impulsão, seu(s) pé(s) non tenha(m) played or surpassed the
attack line;
14.2.2.2 after he/she
plays the ball, he can drop inside of the attack zone (Regra1.4.1).
14.2.3 a defense
player can also make an attack in the attack zone if, in the moment of the
contact with the ball, it leaves of this it be placed below the superior board
of the net (Diagram 7).
14.2.4 no player can
make an attack to the opponent's draft, when the ball is in the attack zone and
totally above the superior board of the net.
14.3 LACKS IN THE
BLOW OF ATTACK
14.3.1 a player hits
the ball inside of the space of game of the opposing team (it Rules 14.2.1).
14.3.2 a player hits
the ball for " out " (it Rules 9.4).
14.3.3 a player of
the defense makes an attack inside of the attack zone, being totally the ball
above the superior board of the net (it Rules 14.2.3).
14.3.4 a player makes
an attack to the opposing draft being inside the ball of the attack zone and
totally above the superior board of the net (it Rules 14.2.4).
14.3.5 a complete Líbero
an attack inside of the game area if in the moment of the contact with the
ball, this it is totally above the superior board of the net (14.2.3).
15. BLOCKADE
15.1 to BLOCK
15.1.1 to block it is
the players' action, positioned the net close to, of intercepting the ball
coming of the opposing block, above the superior board of the net. Only the
players of the attack line can complete a blockade.
15.1.2 blockade
attempt
Blockade attempt is
the action of blocking without playing in the ball.
15.1.3 effective
blockade
The blockade is
effective when the ball is played by a blocking one (Diagram 8).
15.1.4 collective
blockade
I block bus it is
executed by two or close three players one of the other ones and it is
effective when one of them plays in the ball.
15.2 CONTACTS OF THE
BLOCKADE
Serial contacts (fast
and continuous) they can be accomplished by an or more blocking, since those
contacts happen during a same action.
15.3 BLOCK INSIDE OF
THE OPPOSING SPACE
The player in the
blockade can place the hands and arms surpassing the net as long as this action
doesn't interfere in the opponent's game.
Therefore, he can
only play the ball after the opponent has concluded its attack blow.
15.4 BLOCKADE AND
TOUCHES OF THE TEAM
15.4.1 the touch of
the blockade a touch of the team is not considered (it Rules 10.1).
Consequently, after the touch of the blockade, the team is entitled to the
three touches to come back the ball.
15.4.2 the first
touch after the blockade can be given by any player, besides for that that
played the ball during the blockade.
15.5 BLOCKADE OF THE
DRAFT
The blockade of the
opposing draft is prohibited.
15.6 LACKS IN THE
BLOCKADE
15.6.1 the blocking
plays the ball inside before of the opponent's space or simultaneously to the
opponent's attack (it Rules 15.3).
15.6.2 a defense
player blocks or it participates in an effective blockade (Rules 15.1.3 and
15.1.4).
15.6.3 a player
blocks the opponent's draft (it Rules 15.5).
15.6.4 the ball is
outside a correspondent for the blockade (it Rules 9.4).
15.6.5 the ball is
blocked inside on the outside of the opponent's space of the antenna.
15.6.6 a Líbero
participates in a blockade attempt or of an effective blockade (Rules 15.1.3
and 15.1.4).

INTERRUPTIONS is RETARDATIONS
16. INTERRUPTIONS
REGULATE OF THE GAME
The interruptions
regulate of the game they are the TIMES OF REST and the SUBSTITUTIONS OF
PLAYERS.
16.1 NUMBER OF
INTERRUPTIONS REGULATE
Each team is
entitled, at the most, to two " times of rest " and six "
substitutions " in each set.
16.2 REQUESTS FOR
INTERRUPTIONS REGULATE
16.2.1 the
interruptions can only be requested by the technician or for the captain in the
game.
The solicitation is
made through the corresponding manual sign (Diagram 11.4 and 11.5) when the
ball is out of game and before the whistle authorizing the draft.
16.2.2 the
substitution request before the beginning of a set is allowed and it should be
registered as a substitution to regulate of this set.
16.3 SEQUENCE OF THE
INTERRUPTIONS
16.3.1 an or two
requests of time for rest and a request of player's substitution for an or
other team can be happened without the need of restarting the game.
16.3.2 however, a
team is not authorized to do serial solicitations of players' substitution
during the same game interruption. Two or more players can be substituted
during a same interruption (it Rules 8.1.1).
16.4 TIMES OF REST
are TECHNICAL TIMES
16.4.1 a time of rest
has 30 seconds of duration.
In the world
competitions of FIVB the times are applied as it proceeds:
the) of the first to
the fourth set are automatically applied two " Technical " Times when
one of the teams reaches the 8th and the 16th points. Each one of them has 90
seconds of duration.
Consequently, only a
(1) time of rest to regulate of 30 seconds it can be requested by each team in
each one of those sets.
b) In the decisive
set (5th) there are not " Technical " Times; only two (2) times of
rest regulate, of 30 seconds of duration, they can be requested by each team.
16.4.2 during the
times (I rest and technician) the players that are playing should stay in the
free area, close of the bank of reservations of its team.
16.5 SUBSTITUTION OF
PLAYERS
(For limitations, to
see Rule 8.1)
(For substitutions
involving Líbero, to see Rule 8.5)
16.5.1 the
substitutions should happen inside of the substitution zone (it Rules 1.4.3).
16.5.2 the
substitution is limited at the necessary time for its registration in the
súmula and to allow the exit and the players' entrance.
16.5.3 in the moment
of the solicitation, o(s) jogador(es) deve(m) to be pronto(s) to enter,
posicionado(s) próximo(s) of the substitution area (it Rules 1.4.3).
If this condition
doesn't happen, the substitution is not granted and the team is sanctioned by
retardation of the game (it Rules 17.2).
In the world
competitions of FIVB numbered plaquetas they are used to facilitate the
substitutions.
16.5.4 if the
technician wants to proceed the more than a substitution, it should signal the
number of substitutions in the moment of the solicitation. In this case, the
substitutions should be successive, a pair of players of every time.
16.6 IMPROPER
SOLICITATIONS
16.6.1 are
improcedente to request an interruption:
16.6.1.1 during a
rally, in the moment or after the whistle for the draft (it Rules 16.2.1);
16.6.1.2 for a not
authorized member of the team (it Rules 16.2.1);
16.6.1.3 to
substitute a player, before the game to restart, after a substitution previous
of the same team (it Rules 16.3.2);
16.6.1.4 after having
drained the numeric limit of the times of rest and of the substitutions (it
Rules 16.1).
16.6.2 every improper
solicitation that not to affect or to delay the game should be rejected without
any sanction, unless he/she repeats in the same set (it Rules 17.1.4).
